Giving thanks...

Well it's been a little over a year since I began sewing and close to a year since I started this blog.  When I started this blog is was kind of on a whim.  I've always liked writing and thought it would be fun to have a blog but I just didn't know what I would talk about.  I started sewing and started getting into sewing my own clothes and then the idea struck me that I could blog about my sewing.  I had absolutely no idea how many sewing blogs were already out there.  Once I started reading them I was hooked.  It was exactly what I needed to get my creative juices flowing.  I have found so many inspirational bloggers that keep me motivated to keep trucking along.  My blog roll continues to grow everyday as well as my own list of followers.  I'm so happy to have a place to share, be inspired and hopefully inspire others.  As a way to show my appreciation and to celebrate my 1 year blogging/sewing anniversary I wanted to do a giveaway! Yay!!  I love reading all your comments and encouraging words.  It truly gets me through every sewing project.

I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do for a giveaway and a Craftsy class it is!  I'm enrolled in several right now.  Craftsy is an awesome place to learn and create in the comfort of your own home.  You can take the class at your own pace and it's yours forever to view over and over again.  Cake decorating, sewing, weaving, knitting, you name it they have it all.  I pretty much taught myself to sew with the help of the internet and you tube videos (plus I was already born with some mad skills thanks to both of my Granny's). ;)  I enrolled in the Sassy Librarian Blouse class and not only was it super fun it was soooo beneficial to me.  I actually had someone in front of me explaining the why's and how to's of sewing and I got to make a super cute shirt in the process!

See all the details of my "Sassy" experience here.

So the prize up for grabs is the Craftsy class of your choosing.  Make Gertie's Bombshell dress or make your own jelly.  I don't care, it's your choice.  I would love to hear what you choose and if you make a dress I wanna see it!!

So all you have to do to enter is comment below and tell me what class you would like to take.   Also please make sure to leave your email address.

This contest is open to all of my followers near and far!  A random winner will be chosen on Dec 9th.

Good luck everyone and thanks for following my journey!

  4. I have enrolled in the sassy librarian class, hope my top ends up as lovely as yours. If I won your generous giveaway I would most likely enrolled in the beginners serger class, although if some new class came up in the mean time that caught my eye I could perhaps change my mind.

  8. I myself have a big issue with Craftsy, There are just too many choices!!! Since I am presently taking the pant fitting class with Sandra Betzina, My choice should I win this giveaway would be her Pant Construction Techniques. Of course there's always Project Upcycle, Sewing With Knits.... and that's just from one catagory!! Thank you for the opportunity and entertaining us with your blog! Teri

  10. What a lovely give-away idea! If I was lucky enough to win, I would do the pant construction techniques class as I'm too scared to start a pair without some guidance. Congratulations on one year!

  11. Congrats on one year! You're way too generous with this giveaway! I haven't done any craftsy classes because my computer is slow as molasses. But once i get a new one (hopefully soon) i'll have to check them out. The couture dress or the pant construction or pant fitting ones look really good. I'd love it if they did one on how to make your own bodice block, but i don't see that. Anyway throw my name in the hat please!

  19. Gorgeous blouse. Love the little bow detail and the fabric. I would love the pants fitting class. I am on a massive pants perfecting mission at the moment. Really chuffed you are making Thurlows next! I have found some cool links About fixing excess fabric in the back leg but I will wait for your Thurlow post to share them so they are in the right place. Thanks for your lovely comment on my Juniper BTW.

  20. I have been reading through your archives tonight after I came upon your blog looking for Juniper reviews. Love your work. Your macaron is my favorite so far--might have to try that one after all!
I just enrolled in my first Craftsy class last week--the pants fitting one. I think I'd like to do either the pants making or the knits class next.
